Congratulations to the Most Outstanding Program Partners and Micro-Entrepreneurs
who make up the 2009 Sustainable Income for People in Agrarian Grassroots (SIPAG) Awardees of the National Livelihood Development Corporation.
Along with large corporations with considerable investments and revenues, the micro-enterprises and small and medium-scale businesses have buoyed up the economy in the most challenging of times. The micro-enterprises and SMEs make up some 98% of all enterprises in the country and account for about 32% of total employment. Without the hard work, perseverance and resourcefulness of our micro-entrepreneurs and small business folk, many of them operating in rural agricultural communities, the Philippines may not have withstood as well as it has the financial crisis that shook the foundations of the global economy.
I especially laud the micro-entrepreneurial excellence of this year's SIPAG Awardees during these extraordinary times. They truly deserve the recognition that NLDC, its partner institutions, and the National Government hereby bestow on them, and we fervently wish that more of our fellow Filipinos would emulate their exemplary achievements.
I also take note with pride that the theme, "Strengthening the Filipino Entrepreneurial Spirit: Taking Entrepreneurships to the Next Level,"
is very much aligned with our national effort to forge a Strong Republic, able to remain viable and united amidst all challenges.
Mabuhay po kayong lahat, at tanggapin ninyo ang aming taos-pusong pasasalamat sa inyong kaSIPAGan sa pagpapaunlad ng ating ekonomiyaat pagsulong ng mahal nating Pilipinas.
