5th SIPAG Awards

The National Livelihood Development Corporation is pleased to invite all its active program partners in the country to nominate outstanding individual clients for this year’s SIPAG Awards.

Each of NLDC’s partner institution can nominate two (2) microfinance clients in the annual search except those who have already received regional and national honors. Deadline for the submission of nominations is on June 30, 2010.

The SIPAG Award is given annually by the NLDC to recognize and promote as best practices the remarkable achievements of its microfinance partners and individual clients.

In selecting nominee/s, the following requirements must be met:

  • The nominee should be at least in the third loan cycle under the NLDC livelihood lending program;
  • 18 years old and above;
  • An active client of the nominating institution with a repayment record of 100% for current and previous loans;
  • The enterprise or livelihood project being managed should be operating for at least three (3) years as of December 2009;
  • Should be in good standing in the community.

After identifying the nominees, the NLDC requests an account/loan officer to completely fill out the SIPAG Microentrepreneur nomination form with the help of the concerned borrower-nominee. The form should be supplemented by photocopies of the borrower’s records such as financial statements, sales/income records, savings deposit, business permit/registration, proof of assets, and client profile index is required.

A one (1) page write-up of the nominee and his/her enterprise is likewise needed to be submitted to NLDC on the given cut-off date. The article should highlight personal and family background of the nominee, notable experiences and lessons learned in establishing the business, sound business mindset and practices, and involvement in community development projects.
